i’m sorry for the things i wore when it was winter

Hi there, sunshine! It’s been a while, hasn’t it?!

Life has been crazy between college graduation, starting a full-time social media job + bringing home a sweet pup! You can follow her on Insta at @indi_thebadbiddi 😉 BUT can you believe it is already spring?! So thankful warm weather is around the corner here in Atlanta!

I have had SO many questions about hair + make-up products that I use, so I figured, let’s chat about it! And while we are all here, we might as well talk about my spring/summer must haves! So before you pack those suitcases + head to the airport, let’s make sure you have all the essentials to make your beauty routine easy on your trip!

BEAUTY:

Sunscreen: HydroPeptide is my go to sunscreen for spring + summer! It is a SPF 30 sunblock + tinted moisturizer all in one. It is easy to throw on for day to day use with a little mascara or use on vacation for a day at the beach. You can shop it here.

Drunk Elephant: My favorite day serum is by Drunk Elephant! It is loaded with Vitamin C + natural nutrients. It tightens your skin to make it feel bright, without feeling oily. It is a little high on the price end, but I PROMISE it is so worth the money. Shop it here.

Isle of Paradise: The best way to give your face that summer time glow without getting the damage from the sun, Isle of Paradise. I use two drops of the dark tanning oil and mix it in with my Drunk Elephant day serum every morning. I have super sensitive skin + I have had no reaction to it at all! Shop it here.

Highlighter: The key to any bright summer face is a great highlighter. I use the Champagne Pop or Opal from Becca Cosmetics. I have tried a few brands, but this is my favorite! It stays on well + adds the perfect amount of dimension for a dewy, summer look. Shop it here.

Lip Plumper: The perfect pout?? Yes, please! My go to is always a lip plumper + a gloss is ideal for summer time. I use the Sexy Mother Pucker by Soap + Glory in the color Nudestar. It’s great price point + stays on like a dream. You can shop it here.  I pair it with Whirl lipliner from MAC + you can snag that here.

Setting Spray: Who can live without setting spray?? Not me! It is a must, especially in the Georgia humidity. My setting spray, Peach Mist, is tested + true, your makeup will not move! Too Faced outdid themselves with this one + it has a fresh peachy smell! Grab it here.

Now, on to those gorgeous locks of yours! There are so many tips and tricks I have learned for my hair over the years, but I finally have my routine down! It only took me 23 years! I use Redken Extreme shampoo + conditioner, which is perfect for hair that is processed, along with It’s a 10 leave in conditioner after the shower. Now, you’re gonna get the keys to how I style it!

Texture Spray: I can’t even imagine how I did my hair before I found this texture spray! It really is a game-changer, no doubt! Moroccan Oil dry texture spray gives life to any kind of hair. I spray it at the root + throughout my hair after it is curled. Their dry shampoo is amazing, as well! Wanna try it too? Grab it here.

Curling Iron: Curls are something that vary per person, but I use the same iron for a few different looks. I tend to wear loose waves for a day to day look, but a little tighter curl when dressing up! Both of these looks I can achieve with my iron, the Babyliss 1 ¼” inch iron. When curling, always leave the ends of your hair out for a more natural + relaxed curl. Snag the iron here.

Teleties: Last, but certainly not least, the wonderful teletie. When I first saw them I thought, what on earth are those? But after using them, they have saved my hair! They are so much better for your hair + cause way less damage than traditional hair ties. Perfect for a quick gym session or a day at the pool! They come in multiple sizes + colors. Shop them here.

Phew, enough of the beauty products—let’s talk about CLOTHES!! **cue the angels singing**

CLOTHES:

Neutrals + White on White: I’m not a girl with a lot of color in my wardrobe. So, when I saw all the neutrals this year, you could say I had allllll the heart eyes! Neutrals + white combos are such an easy look for the city and vacation.  My romper is from Easel, Los Angeles.

Knit Bottoms: Talk about bringing the 90’s back! Knit clothes are the best way to mix comfy + casual to get the perfect outfit! I have a few different pieces, but I love my knit skirt! I love to pair it with my Doc Marten’s + a graphic tee or sneakers + a tied-up blouse. Here is a similar one!

Hair Scarf: The hair scarf. I mean, whoever thought of this is a genius. The best way to spice up a pony tail + take it from 5-day-old hair (oops) to a stylish, effortless up-do. I have mine from a variety of places, but some of the cutest you can find are here.

Sneakers: My go to for every day is a great pair of sneakers. I splurged and bought two pairs of Golden Goose Deluxe Brand sneakers, + let me tell you, I have gotten my money’s worth out of them! Any sneaker is so easy to throw on + run some errands while still looking chic!  Here is a similar version.

Light Weight Sweater: The perfect layering piece for summer time is a light weight sweater! I pair mine with a pair of mom jeans + sneakers or throw it on over a swimmie with denim shorts. I’m not much of a color person, but the blue of this sweater was just too cute to pass up. Shop it here.

Denim Short: You can’t ever go wrong with a great denim short. The trend I have seen on the market is definitely high waisted + more of a boyfriend fit. This is a great style to pair with some pumps to dress up, or wear with sneakers for a more casual style. Here are some styles that I love: these or those.

Swimsuits: These bad boys are always a sensitive subject! I think you just have to shop bathing suits that you feel most comfortable in. I found the brand Cali Dreaming, and you can shop it here. It is definitely a higher price point, but the quality is so worth it. Some other brands that I love are Triangl, Boys + Arrows and various brands that are carried at Pac Sun.

Woven Sandals: Easy to wear + even easier on the wallet. You can dress them up or down + they are the perfect neutral color to match any outfit flawlessly! You can shop mine, here.
