Every year the fashion world waits and watches to see the new color of the year. It is decided by Pantone and is released towards the end of the year to set the trends for the upcoming year and season. For 2018, our minds were met with a very unpredictable choice. Most would have guessed the color yellow for a message of positivity and light; we were very wrong.

When you think about it, the color makes sense. It is bold and empowering, and it did inspire a notion of wonder and creativity. But, if you are like me, you are wondering how on Earth am I going to make purple work! It’s too bold, too bright, and nowhere close to a neutral and I just do not think it will work for me. Dressing for business casual and trying to stay on trend is tricky enough.
